How to set your email to use this signature
GMail
For best results, we recommend you make/edit your signature in Google Chrome.
- Fill out the form (above)
- Select and copy the whole of the preview box
- In Gmail click the Gear button (top right corner) and select See All Settings
- In “General” tab scroll down to “Signature” and delete any previous signature text, if there is no signature set click on “+ Create New”
- Paste the new signature in the box provided
- Click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page
MS Outlook 2007/2010/2016/2019
- Select and copy the whole of the preview box
- In Outlook click File > Options (or Tools > Options)
- In the Outlook Options window click the Mail tab or the Mail Format tab
- Click the Signatures button
- In the Signatures and Stationary popup, click New
- In the popup, type in a name and click OK
- On the right hand side for the "New messages" option select the signature you have just created. Leave "Replies/Forwards" as "(none)"
- Right click in the signature space at the bottom of the dialogue and click paste.
- Click OK to close the popup and OK to close the options window
Mac Mail
- Change the Images setting to Remote
- In Mac Mail, click Mail > Preferences > Signatures
- Select your Wycliffe account and click the + button to create a new signature
- Copy (cmd-c) the HTML code (above) into a text editor and save it to your desktop as "signature.html". Make sure it is plain text
- Open the HTML file with Safari and save as webarchive filetype
- Go to your Library folder (click Go > Go to folder and type ~/library)
- Find the Signature folder
- Library > Mail > Signatures
- Library > Mail > V2 > MailData > Signature
- You should see a .webarchive file with a long, cryptic filename. That's the signature file that we'll replace.
- Rename the webarchive file on your desktop to be the same name as the file in #7
- Copy and paste the signature webarchive to the folder, overwriting the default signature.
- Restart Mac Mail
OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion
Instead of using a webarchive file you can just open the .mailsignature file in the Library folder and paste the HTML code, replacing everything after the "Mime-Version" line.
With every restart, Mac Mail will try to overwrite this file and revert to the default value. To prevent this set the .mailsignature file to read-only by clicking File > Get Info and check "Locked".
iPhone/iPad
There is no support for HTML formatting or images on iPhone/iPad signatures so you are limited to plain text. To edit your signature go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Signature. We recommend using the same format as above.
